Read MoreDonna Cracraft of Zionsville admires antique bicycles Saturday afternoon at Fanimation, 10983 Bennett Pkwy. Cracraft said she's the "proud owner of a Fanimation fan." The local business was hosting a National Ceiling Fan Day Awareness Party, complete with a deejay, free food by Edwards Dashboard Diner, a beer garden, root beer floats, caricaturist, kids' activities, classic car show, antique bicycles, and prize giveaways. The Fanimation Antique Fan Museum also was open. Company President Nathan Frampton said one goal of the event was to educate people that fans are good for the environment and the household budget. Company employees are encouraging people to turn off their air conditioning on National Ceiling Fan Day, Sept. 18, and use fans to conserve "trillions of kilowatt hours of energy."
