John Krasowski, owner of Periwinkle's Soda Pop & Candy Shop, 115 E. Washington St., Lebanon, never had a grand opening for his shop, so he threw a Soda Pop Festival on Saturday in the street in front of the store. Tents lining both sides of the street offered samples of more than 70 sodas, and Solomon's tacos and St. Adrian's sandwiches were available as well. The Edgars, a band out of Frankfort; DJ Jordan; and Radio Mom kept attendees entertained. Noah Lyons, who was eating a Big Kahuna sandwich at the St. Adrian booth with his mom, Dr. Shari Lyons, said he liked a birthday cake soda. "I've never had carbonated cake before, so this was a good experience," he said. "You can have your cake and drink it, too." His mom liked a prickly pear soda. She said she likes getting out to support local businesses.
