ENVIRONMENTAL EVENT: Kim Ferraro (left), water and agriculture policy director at the Hoosier Environmental Council, moderated a panel discussion between Tracy Lewis (center), executive director of the Lake County Minority Health Coalition and Dr. Indra Frank, environmental health director at the HEC. The panel was the first of several featured at the HEC's annual Greening the Statehouse event, which took place Saturday at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. About 520 people attended the conference, where they could visit booths manned by environmental groups and hear discussions on environmental justice, climate progress and the future of Indiana environmental policy. Melissa Mays, a Hoosier native who now lives in Flint, Michigan, gave the keynote address on environmental advocacy.
